In my previous post on Friday, I informed everyone that I was going to participate in a "staff appreciation" event for Nickelback. It was an amazing experience.
We arrived at American Airlines Center at 11am on Saturday morning and parked our vehicles in the lot with Sick Puppies, Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin and Nickelback's tour buses! We got inside the AAC through a side door that took us downstairs and to the backstage area, where everyone was busy setting up lighting, pyrotechnics and speakers for the show. While they set up for the big event, we set up our stylists stations in the Visitor's Locker Room and got our "Nickelback Worker" stickers that allowed us access to pretty much anywhere we wanted to go.
I was one of two hair stylists, two manicurists, an acupunturist, a chiropractor and several massage therapists. I was told that we would be cutting hair for any of the staff who wanted a haircut. This included road crew, lighting guys, show promoters, assistants and possibly band members.
We were busy from 11am until 7pm. I did get a break to grab some catered lunch and they also brought up pizza for us. We met so many interesting people from all walks of life. My clients included drivers & lighting guys, Nickelback's sound guy, Orris and Brad, the band's assistant. He's only 25! (What an awesome job to have at 25!) I even met and cut their personal chef, J.P.'s hair. He smelled of garlic and onions. It was fabulous! I had to make sure not to leave any loose hair on him. Rock stars don't like hair in their food!
Those guys were all friendly and had such great personalities but the highlight of my day was cutting Emma Anzai, the bass player from Sick Puppies and Eric Bass, the bassist from Shinedown along with his wife. I even got a hug from Eric before he left for a "Meet & Greet".
Now I can officially say I have done "Rock Star Hair!"

To top off an already awesome day, I was given 4 complimentary tickets to the show. I called my boyfriend, Josh, as soon as I found out and he brought along two of our good friends, Joel & Heather. The seats we had were perfect! We were so close we could feel the heat from the flames and fireworks on stage. All the performances were spectacular! Nickelback can really entertain a crowd! I didn't leave the AAC until after 11pm. (Yes, I spent 12 hrs at American Airlines Center.) It was an incredible oppurtunity and a day & night I will never forget!
To me this is just further proof that everything happens for a reason and God, The Universe, whatever you choose to call your Higher Power, puts you where you need to be to make these things happen, if you will just let go and "let it be". I never would have imagined that I would have had this oppurtunity but I am open to whatever comes and I know that with everything, there is something to learn! I feel truly blessed!

I've posted some pictures from Saturday! Check them out! I hope you all have a wonderful week! Much Love!

Let it Be,
-Stevi
