Owning Love: Accepting Where I Am 01/13/2010
I am sitting in my living room of an apartment that is compiled with boxes tuned into Pandora, letting the trickling of water of calm and soothe me as I work. (Music of Stan Richardson.) Before long, I will be sitting on the shore of the Pacific Ocean, meditating as the sun comes up, taking in all the sounds of the ocean. The waves will crash, people will be laughing, and running on the beach and the colors that bounce off the waters will enchant my thoughts and haunt my dreams. I feel as though this journey has been a long time in the making for me. I recently wrote a teen post for Owning Pink. I reminisced of stories about my teenage years; the emotions, heartbreaks and misunderstandings. When I graduated High School I had planned on moving to New Hampshire with my Grandfather and Grandmother, needless to say it didn’t work out (completely my fault.) So I came back to Texas and a year later moved from Dallas to Austin. It was quite the experience, but I never felt like Austin was where I was supposed to stay. I have always felt a yearning in my soul for discovering places I have not yet seen. Here I am, getting ready to travel all over the United States visiting those that I have fallen in love with through the Owning Pink Community. Learning what it is that drives them, their passions and lets them fall in love with life on a daily basis. I have no idea the treasures this journey will hold for me, but I do know that none of it would be possible without you all. Thank you so much for taking me in your home and loving me as one of your own. I look forward to our Journey together. CommentsLeave a Reply |
