Have You Been Avoiding Drinking Water? Think Again.
#1.75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
(Likely applies to half the world population..)

#2.. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak
that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down
midnight hunger pangs
for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a
University of
Washington study.

#5.Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of
water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain
for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term
memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on
the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of
colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast
cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop
bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water
you should drink every day?

You Think You Like Coca Cola? Think Again.

#1. In many states the highway patrol carries
two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
the highway after a car accident.

#2.You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke
and it will be gone in two days.

#3.To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the
toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour,
then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes
stains from vitreous china.

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola..

#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour
a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble
away the corrosion.

#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola
to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke
into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen
grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your
windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
#1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric
acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major
contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2.To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the
commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place
cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3.     The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean
engines of the trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?
…or Coke?

One of my intentions for 2010 is to Own my Sexy. To understand what it means to be Sexy and to feel confident in wearing Sexy all the time, no matter the circumstance. It just so happens that one of the Pinkies who joined me in my Journey to Health, Caren- knows all about what it takes to be Sexy and live it its fullest. Caren agreed to take on being my Life Coach to all things Sexy; my first assignment: Get a pedicure and manicure with red nail polish!
Picture
Although I have had several pedicures and few manicures in the past, it was much more fun getting one under the orders of someone else. So thank you, Caren, for that! The sparkles contained in my red polish make me feel particularly magical.
Picture
Now that my first order of business is taken care of the next step is a bubble bath.
Picture
During this time I will soak, adore my silky smooth skin and radiate in my own sexiness. Are there any of you out there that need to take charge of your sexiness. Whether you see it from time to time or not at all, the sexiness lies within YOU- believe me, it's there, just ask Caren.

I am starting my days different. I have recently made some big changes in my life for the benefit of following my “North Star.” They weren’t easy changes; it involved leaving someone very near and dear to my heart. However, I am clear that through me leaving, we will both come out stronger, happier and clearer on our intentions for this life in the end. I do not know if my departure is permanent, but I know in my soul, my heart and spirit that I am following the right path.

This morning I began my day with some orange juice, meditation and short read from Eckart Tolle’s book, A New Earth. I decided that I needed to start my day off with writing and meditation in order to create a clearer understanding of my purpose in this life. I have always found enlightenment and clarity through my writing. As I was reading, I stumbled upon this quote:

“Can they defy the gravitational pull of materialism and materiality and rise above the identification with form that keeps the ego in the place and condemns them into imprisonment within their own personality?”

I ask that you live the rest of your day with the above quote in mind. Are you present to the fact that you are here for a greater purpose than things, money and the trivial emotions that burden us on a daily basis? It IS true. There is a higher purpose for all of and each and every one of you has the tools to learn what that is and get the most out of life.

You might be thinking, “but I can’t give up me THINGS?! They make me so happy for the most part and isn’t that why I work? So I can buy THINGS?!” My answer to you is this; could you imagine stumbling upon something so brilliant, something so beautiful that every time it crossed you mind or you found more evidence of it existing, you were brought to tears by its beauty? Imagine living a life for something that made you THAT happy.

I am sitting in my living room of an apartment that is compiled with boxes tuned into Pandora, letting the trickling of water of calm and soothe me as I work. (Music of Stan Richardson.) Before long, I will be sitting on the shore of the Pacific Ocean, meditating as the sun comes up, taking in all the sounds of the ocean. The waves will crash, people will be laughing, and running on the beach and the colors that bounce off the waters will enchant my thoughts and haunt my dreams.

I feel as though this journey has been a long time in the making for me. I recently wrote a teen post for Owning Pink. I reminisced of stories about my teenage years; the emotions, heartbreaks and misunderstandings. When I graduated High School I had planned on moving to New Hampshire with my Grandfather and Grandmother, needless to say it didn’t work out (completely my fault.) So I came back to Texas and a year later moved from Dallas to Austin. It was quite the experience, but I never felt like Austin was where I was supposed to stay. I have always felt a yearning in my soul for discovering places I have not yet seen.

Here I am, getting ready to travel all over the United States visiting those that I have fallen in love with through the Owning Pink Community. Learning what it is that drives them, their passions and lets them fall in love with life on a daily basis. I have no idea the treasures this journey will hold for me, but I do know that none of it would be possible without you all. Thank you so much for taking me in your home and loving me as one of your own. I look forward to our Journey together.

I get emails regularly from a inspirational website called The Daily Om. When I read this, I wanted to share it here with you. Often we say that the way other people are 'being' is standing in the way of our happiness. But the truth is that we are all doing the best we can with what we have.

Sometimes we look at the actions of others and find it difficult to understand what motivates them. But we are all doing the best we can with the information we currently have. We have all been taught how to see the world from the examples of those around us and by our experiences. Keeping this in mind, we can accept the choices made by others while seeking ways to increase the world’s level of consciousness as a whole.

Our different levels of consciousness are like the developmental stages of children, whose understanding varies according to their age and experience. For example, the behavior of a two-year-old who doesn’t want to share can be understood as a phase of his social education, whereas a 16-year-old who behaves in the same manner would be thought to be acting childish. It is important to remember that we are each on our own unique path. We may have chosen certain lessons or made an agreement to play certain roles in the unfolding of the world’s understanding before we incarnated in this lifetime. So our job is not to judge others but to shift the balance of understanding in the world by increasing our own.

Every thought we have and action we take becomes part of the collective energy of the planet. When we use our energy to bring light into the world, it combines with the light brought by others to dispel the darkness. Though we live in a world of duality, which helps us to experience the material plane, we don’t need to experience extremes to understand them. We can share our experiences and understanding with others not from a place of condescension but of connection. When the entire family of humanity understands that each of our thoughts, choices, and actions affect us all, we will share an incredible level of consciousness—one that puts our oneness above all else and helps us evolve into higher expressions of our spiritual selves. Remember the next time you witness an action of another that they are of the same earth as you but simply on a different conscious level at this point in their life. Find compassion, bless them, and move along your day in grace.

I had been pondering and pondering, listening and listening, hoping and hoping for a sign from The Universe. A signal that would direct me to where I would be of most use to God; still I heard nothing.
I was house-sitting for a friend, having a conversation on the computer with my friend Dana and she asked me, 'why don't you just travel?' In that moment the tears started to swell in my eyes and I could feel my excitement rising. For some reason it had not occurred to me that traveling the US was an option. But the more I considered it, the more it seem like my only option.
  • I have a job that allows me to work from my computer.
  • I have no roots in this particular location.
  • My entire conversation the past year has revolved around wanting to travel more.
why not?! Then I started planning. I started asking around, and before I knew it within a week of asking I had 30 different couches/spare rooms lined up across the United States to visit.
I have not shared my plans with all of my family and friends, but some know. Soon I will share it with everyone. I am aware of how crazy this idea is. I know it is not 'norm' but neither was flying before the Wright Brothers. (Yes I just compared my situation to the Wright Brothers for lack of a better example.)
As I made this decision it seemed that many other things were attracted to me after the fact. Not only will I be on the road, visiting Pinkies, but I will also be spreading my 365 Days of Kindness Campaign and working with Melinda Woolfe to spread infinite love and abundance. Although our plan is not completely gathered at this point I know it will all unfold beautifully.

Picture
So- with that said, I have a total of 34 places lined up so far. I am still taking offers for spare couches or rooms. Leave me a comment on this blog if you are interested in letting me stay with you.
With each place I travel to I am planning on doing something new and different. Something I wouldn't necessarily be able to do if I had stayed in Dallas, Texas. So be thinking about what your city/state has to offer! I looking forward to learning more about you!
I had been putting off writing this blog post and then I heard this song. I wanted to share it with you all. Aside from the lyrics, I LOVE Ella Fitzgerald. Her voice soothes me.

Hello there Pinkies,
Not only has Adele become one of my favorite singers, but this particular song has been playing in my office and head NON-STOP for the last week or more. I trying to figure out what about this song I loved so much. For the most part when people hear this song they relate it to a romantic relationship. However, the more I listen to it, the more I think of the journey I am about to take this year. My travels will  be pursued with a definite message of infinite love. So this song is really a devotion to all of you Pinkies I will be meeting within the next year. I am on a mission to spread love all over the United States. I cannot wait to be a part of your physical life. Much love to you all. This ones for you-
